Kanye West continues to dig his heels in over his antisemitism controversy, swatting away the allegations that he doesn’t like Jewish people in flippant fashion on a new song.

Kanye West began spewing antisemitic rhetoric late last year following the backlash to the “White Lives Matter” shirts he debuted at his Yeezy Season 9 fashion show in October.
In various interviews, public appearances and social media posts, he praised Adolf Hitler and vowed to go “Death Con 3 on Jewish people”, while also disparaging George Floyd and the Black Lives Matter movement.

West was subsequently dropped by a number of creative and commercial partners, most notably adidas. The termination of their lucrative Yeezy partnership saw Kanye’s $1.5 billion net worth get slashed to around $400 million.
He was also suspended from major social media platforms, with X (formerly Twitter) freezing his account after he posted an image of a swastika inside the Star of David.
Kanye West's Antisemitic Comments Were Aimed At Drake, Says Malik Yusef
West’s bigoted outbursts have had even larger and more serious real-world consequences, with The Anti-Defamation League (ADL) linking dozens of antisemitic incidents in the U.S. to the rapper’s remarks.
Kanye apologized for some of his comments in an interview with Piers Morgan last October, saying he was sorry for the “hurt and confusion” that he had caused.

Question marks have been raised about the sincerity of Kanye’s remorse, though. Earlier this year, the G.O.O.D. Music founder joked about how the Jonah Hill movie 21 Jump Street “made [him] like Jewish people again.” He later filed an application to trademark “YEWS,” an apparent Yeezy-fication of the word “Jews.”
It has also since come to light that West’s admiration for Adolf Hitler dates back to at least the early ’00s when he was working on his debut album The College Dropout, and that he had originally planned to name his 2018 album ye after the notorious Nazi leader.

As for his new music, Kanye is expected to make his return in the coming months with an as-yet-untitled album with Ty Dolla $ign. He is also reportedly working on a joint project with British singer/producer James Blake.
