Cindy’s post:
Devastating news to share but our baseball families stick together and many have reached out to provide support, prayers, or shared tears for the heartbreaking news of Micah McAfoose’s passing on 1/20/2023 in an awful car accident coming home from SFA for the weekend. He was a Cy Ranch graduate of 2022 and our beloved #22 catcher on the baseball team. Many of you know his parents, especially his mom sitting in the stands with her Waffle Shirt because Micah would get Waffle House if he hit a home run! He did hit that homerun and we all went to Waffle House to celebrate him and a memory I will treasure forever.
I ask we lift Micah’s family in continued prayers as their family will need the strength to move forward after losing their son. Everyone knows how much personality Micah had. He was the light and joy for many, a comedian for many, a confidant for many, and a friend of ALL. He was a brother, cousin, teammate, student, and most of all a son that will be dearly missed by everyone that knew him. I’m in tears and disbelief knowing he’s gone too soon. With permission of the family I have been able to share this news and I will provide further information on funeral arrangements, and provide a meal train link soon. I have (on my own) created a gofundme link to help this precious and fragile family with funeral expenses because this is the last thing they need to think of while burying their son. Please reach out to me directly if you have any questions. But what I ask the most is to pray for the entire McAfoose family to give them the strength and guidance to keep moving forward. We love you Micah and RIP #22.
P.S. I ask that everyone comments with a memory and/or funny pictures of Micah to keep his memory alive via this post.
I will also be reaching out to many to ask that our baseball players write a sentiment about Micah in their handwriting and give it to me. We would like to make a memory token for his family collected of all his teammate’s/friends’ well wishes. More details to come on that…working on ideas with fellow baseball moms.
A GoFundMe has been created to help generate funds for the family

“To know Micah was to love Micah! He was such a bright light to everyone that knew him with his infectious smile, and bright blue eyes, and was funny as hell! I have no words to express the sorrow all of us feel with him being gone too soon. He was an amazing soul, person, human, friend, teammate, student, brother, cousin, and son. He was so comforting to all that knew him. He created a special bond with everyone and his passing has left everyone that knows him a huge void that will probably never be filled….yes he was that special”…
